Our outside adventure areas
Baby and Toddler Garden
Our dedicated Baby Garden is a safe, all-weather space thoughtfully designed for our youngest children at our nursery, we are incredibly proud of our outdoor environment. Designed to inspire exploration, creativity, and learning, our five unique outdoor areas allow children to enjoy fresh air, play, and discovery all year round, whatever the weather.
A large umbrella provides shade during warmer months, while planters filled with fruits, vegetables, and flowers introduce children to the wonders of nature. The garden features a playhouse, slide, bridge, water play equipment, mud kitchen, chalkboard, and a variety of toys. Each day, a themed tuff tray activity encourages hands-on learning, curiosity, and imaginative play.
Cosy Courtyard
Nestled between the Baby Room and Preschool, the Cosy Courtyard is a vibrant all-weather area full of opportunities for adventure. Children can ride trikes and scooters around the oval track or explore the wooden teepee and playhouse set amongst soft artificial grass. Colourful roof panels cast rainbow reflections across the courtyard, creating a magical atmosphere. The space also includes climbing equipment, reading areas, water play opportunities, and raised troughs where children help grow flowers and vegetables.
Busy Bugs Garden
Our Busy Bugs Garden is a thriving mini-allotment where children experience the joy of growing their own food. Using raised beds, grow bags, and planting sacks, children take part in every stage of the growing process—from planting seeds and watering to harvesting and tasting their produce. The garden is also home to herbs, flowers, shrubs, a giant handmade bug hotel, and outdoor seating for nature-based learning and discovery.
Nature Play Area
This spacious grassy area is centred around a magnificent tree with a circular bench, providing natural shade and a wonderful place to gather. Children enjoy outdoor games, themed activities, construction play, and imaginative adventures in the mud kitchen. With picnic tables, a book shed, and plenty of room to explore, it becomes a favourite spot during the warmer months. Our water butt is also located here, helping us collect rainwater to care for the Busy Bees Garden.
Adventure Zone
A firm favourite with our children, the Adventure Zone is an exciting all-weather play space packed with opportunities to build confidence and physical skills. The large wooden climbing structure features steps, a climbing wall, bridge, slide, and peek-through panels, while nearby balance beams, stepping logs, and a rickety bridge encourage children to challenge themselves, improve coordination, and have fun through active play.
Across all of our outdoor spaces, children are encouraged to learn, explore, create, and connect with nature every day. We believe outdoor play is an essential part of childhood, and our carefully designed environments help children develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
