Family Fun Day – A Fantastic End to Our Nursery Year!

What a truly wonderful way to celebrate the end of another fantastic year at Thorney Island Nursery!

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome so many of our nursery children, parents, carers and extended family members to our annual Family Fun Day. It was a pleasure to see everyone coming together to enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and lasting memories. Events like these are a wonderful opportunity for our nursery community to spend quality time together, and we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.

There really was something for everyone to enjoy. Children and adults alike loved cooling down with delicious ice creams from the ice cream van and choosing from a tempting selection of treats at the sweet stall. One of the highlights of the day was meeting Princess the Unicorn, who gave magical pony rides and brought huge smiles to the faces of all the children lucky enough to have a turn.

The delicious BBQ proved to be a big hit, with freshly cooked burgers enjoyed by families as they relaxed and spent time together. The visit from the local fire service was another memorable attraction, giving children the opportunity to explore the fire engine, hear the sirens and horn, and watch the impressive water jet demonstration. It was an exciting experience that captured everyone's imagination.

Throughout the afternoon there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. The bouncy castle was constantly full of energetic children, face painting transformed little ones into everything from butterflies to superheroes, and the wide range of games and activities ensured there was never a dull moment.

To round off the celebrations, our children's and adults' raffles created plenty of excitement. With an amazing selection of prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters, there were lots of delighted winners and the raffles proved to be the perfect ending to a truly memorable day.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our Family Fun Day, whether by attending, purchasing raffle tickets, volunteering their time or donating prizes. Your kindness and generosity helped create a fantastic event for our nursery families and made it a very special way to celebrate another successful year at Thorney Island Nursery.
