Celebrating VE Day with a picnic

The children were thrilled to have a few days to get ready for the exciting VE celebration picnic lunch! They eagerly made and decorated cupcakes with vibrant red, white, and blue icing and sprinkles, and enthusiastically painted pictures using the traditional colours.

Parents came and joined their child/children for a lovely picnic in the sunshine to celebrate 80 years since the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday 8th May 1945.
